Documentarian Arthur Dong's moving effort "Coming Out Under Fire" (1994) looks at the experiences of gay men and women who served in America's armed forces in the WWII era in the face of prejudice and persecution. Dong elicits firsthand testimony from Stonewall Rebellion participants in "Out Rage '69" (1995). Dong's chilling examination of anti-gay violence "Licensed to Kill" (1997) interviews seven convicted killers whose crimes were motivated by homophobia.
