The long-awaited release of this album originally recorded in '91 features Placido Domingo in the title role of this 1965 musical. Man of La Mancha ran for nearly 6 years and won the New York Drama Circle Critics Award and the Tony for Best Musical; it is best known, however, for launching the immortal standard, "The Impossible Dream." This cast encompasses both the worlds of opera and musical theater: Julia Migenes, Jerry Hadley, Samuel Ramey and Mandy Patinkin.
